EQ: This is the frequency response of your microphone and your voice. It can be seen in a parametric EQ plugin and manipulated using EQ settings. Think back to when you played with the EQ on your old HiFi system 🙂
Compression: This is a process where by quieter parts of your recording are made more audible by boosting the quieter parts to match the loader parts so you have a consistent level in recording
Noise reduction: This is a process to eliminate sounds that you don’t want in the recording such as noise floor
Normalisation: This process raises the peaks of the recording to meet a certain DB. Unlike compression Normalisation does not change the dynamics of the recording much it just raises the whole recording to a more audible level.
Feel free to discuss your knowledge of the above and how you use it? Or if you have any questions feel free 🙂
